The links between climate change, mitigation policies, and GHG emissions emerge at the scale of ecoregions, petroleum and gas plays, and cities (100 – 1000 km), where most of the global emissions are concentrated. In this talk, I will discuss the current state-of-the-art for determining the emission rates for GHGs, and learning about how they are distributed in time and space, using recent examples in urban domains, production fields for oil and gas, and the Arctic.
