Dr Bronwyn Bevan will discuss three emerging bodies of research in the learning sciences that demonstrate the critical role that out of school learning plays in building young people’s interest, fluency, and commitment to STEM learning. Recent synthesis reports from the National Research Council, as well as several new multi-sited studies, create a compelling case that OST STEM Programs make a difference especially for students from communities historically underrepresented in STEM fields.
