Integrated Process Modeling of Metal Additive Manufacturing Process

Integrated process model that calculate the thermal cycles, elastic-plastic strains and microstructure in metal (Ti and Ni alloys) parts made by additive manufacturing has been developed. Perspective of a small business in developing ICME tools for emerging additive manufacturing processes will be presented. Specific focus will be given to minimize the cost and time by elimination of trial and error optimization and post-processing steps through targeted application of these ICME models.
