Linking Academic Knowledge to Social Needs

In the Creative Economy, the role of university has changed from creating knowledge to applying knowledge to meet societal needs. It is expected to transfer R&D to industry and feed into start-ups. This has led to an increased interest in related diffusion models. Yet, societal demands may exceed current abilities and hamper smooth knowledge utilization in Korea. So, the system must be overhauled through planning to invigorate knowledge utilization, especially in knowledge transfer and startups.
