Data requirements for testing of pesticides are amongst the most rigorous in the world, but not all the data are necessary for risk assessment and not all relevant effects are being assessed adequately. There are advances being made in refining the data requirements and adding additional endpoints within studies. Questions still remain on how to address cumulative epxosures, plant specific metabolites and environmental degradates.
