Beyond Moore: A European Perspective

As the fabrication of ICs almost completely move to Asia, European companies, research labs and universities are concentrating on new directions. On the one side, Silicon technology can be combined with materials and components providing additional functionalities (“More than Moore”). On the other, alternative technologies such as large area/flexible electronics can be pursued (“Beyond Moore”). The talk will illustrate the two approaches and will critically address their potential.
