Several emerging nanoelectronic device technologies have been proposed as potential successor technologies for main-stream silicon-based semiconductor technology. It is generally recognized that new device concepts might necessitate new concepts for circuits and systems in which these new devices might find their natural application. We will focus on emerging device concepts together with circuit concepts which take advantage of the idiosyncrasies of particular device operation. This talk will illustrate this interplay between devices and circuits and system with specific examples of potential Beyond Moore technologies.
