Japan's New Science and Innovation Policy

Japan recently announced their new Science and Innovation Policy to guide R&D investment from 2011 to 2015. The Policy's basic concept is a comprehensive "New Growth Strategy" that focuses on Green Innovation to realize a low carbon society and Life Innovation to realize high quality of life in an aging society. This talk will contrast the traditional national framework for R&D investment with the "New Growth Strategy" and highlight changes that have been made to move forward with the implementation of the new Policy.
