Room 207 (Hynes Convention Center)
Careers in science and research in today’s world are globally mobile and internationally connected. Researchers are expected to succeed in a variety of contexts. Managing mobility and collaborating with, and adapting to, unfamiliar research systems are key competencies in increasingly internationalized research environments. This workshop provides attendees with concrete tools and strategies to develop and grow a research career in a globalized science community. Presenters will outline the benefits and challenges that come with international mobility and collaboration; analyze case studies; discuss examples of good practices, and offer advice on topics such as cultural barriers, networking, communication, resources, and support structures.
