Dr. Gonzalez is a leading Cuban coral reef ecologist and director of the Center of Marine Studies in Cuba. She will discuss the state of Cuba’s coral reefs along with the threats, socio-economic levers, and opportunities for restoration and conservation. Gonzalez will discuss how the Center for Marine Studies in Havana works with policymakers to provide relevant, rigorous, and credible science that informs Cuban policies.
