Strengthening Teaching and Learning in the Geosciences: The Role of Education Research

Geoscience has an established community supporting use of education research and shared practitioner knowledge to improve teaching. Geoscience education research plays two important roles in this community: addressing specific questions to guide practice and investigating the case for widespread educational improvements. This presentation will focus on the evolution of DBER within a community of transformation and its contributions to understanding geoscience teaching and learning.
