Creating Momentum Around Diversity at a R1 University

Duke University created the Office of Biomedical Diversity in 2010 to address the urgent need to diversify its programs. The office developed over 15 coordinated interventions addressing faculty engagement, institutional funding, cross-institutional collaborations, and student wellness and support. This case study will explore the rapid improvements and impactful changes that resulted from the intensive analysis and re-structuring to create a significant change in culture and practice.
