Implications of Pressure and Temperature Conditions on the Behavior of Deep Blowouts
Implications of Pressure and Temperature Conditions on the Behavior of Deep Blowouts
Saturday, February 18, 2017: 1:00 PM-2:30 PM
Room 203 (Hynes Convention Center)
This presentation will review the modeled and experimental results of oil and gas escaping from a deep well blowout scenario. Using measured conditions from the Deepwater Horizon blowout, along with experimental results from high pressure experimentation facilities in Hamburg and Calgary, the behavior of oil and gas particles, hydrate formation and the efficacy of dispersant injection will be summarized.
