Towards A Molecular Understanding of CRISPR-Cas Enzymes

Friday, February 12, 2016: 1:00 PM-2:30 PM
Marriott Balcony B (Marriott Wardman Park)
Hong Li, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL
Dr. Hong Li is a biochemist and a structural biologist interested in how RNA-directed enzymes in general, including CRISPR-Cas enzymes, function. She will introduce CRISPR-Cas systems and present current understanding of how a type III-B CRISPR-Cas enzyme carries out RNA-directed degradation of RNA and DNA.
