The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) seeks to develop itself into a transformative research university that is a generator of ideas and a source of knowledge and competence for enhancing Sub-Saharan Africa’s STEM capacity to harness resources of nature and transform the African society and industry. Correspondingly, it seeks to develop academia-public-private partnerships which facilitate the translation of research results into tangible products, industrial and business solutions, as well as policy briefs to inform policy making.”
