Local Science Tours: California Winery Tasting

While tasting some of Northern California’s finest wines, chat with an expert on the science of wine and how climate change may affect local vineyards. This private tour includes a prepared lunch to enjoy while indulging in beautiful scenery and outstanding wine. Participants will be contacted in January 2015 to provide information on dietary restrictions. The tour includes wine tasting at the following wineries:
  • Picchetti Vineyards
    Located on a historic ranch a short drive from Silicon Valley, Picchetti Winery is one of the oldest wineries in California. Picchetti offers a variety of award-winning wines, specialty foods, and wine accessories.

  • Savannah-Chanelle Vineyard
    Established in 1892, this winery holds some of Santa Cruz Mountain’s oldest vines. Taste some of California’s best Pinot Noir at Savannah-Chanelle.

  • Testarossa Winery
    Located near downtown Los Gatos at the historic Novitiate winery, this winery has been operating since the late 1800’s. The oldest winery in the appellation, it specializes in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Tour is available on a first come, first served basis. Tour departs from and return to the San Jose Convention Center.
