NIH Response to the Two Reports of Advisory Committee to the Director

The NIH remains committed to training the next generation of biomedical scientists reflecting the scientific needs of the funded research. The Office of the NIH Director has studied the recommendations of the two Advisory Committee reports and has developed a strategy to respond. The NIH agrees that the training of quantitative scientists is critical to continuing the advancement of biomedical science, especially in the era of big data and complex genomic data.
