ELIXIR is a 15-nation European infrastructure designed for the huge growth in data produced by the latest generation of life sciences research technologies. If well managed, this deluge of data could enable scientific breakthroughs in agriculture, food, energy and healthcare. This presentation will examine the highly specialized challenges of standards, costs and transnational issues facing the life sciences in dealing with the emerging opportunities offered by cross-border sharing of Big Data.
