Introduction to Citizen Science and the Zooniverse

Laura Whyte will introduce the concept of "citizen science" and will describe how the phenomenon emerged and has changed in the era of big data and access to high-speed internet. She will then introduce the Zooniverse, which is a suite of projects in a diverse range of fields, including astronomy, biology, climate science, history, and medicine.
