Air quality and climate change mitigation are generally treated in two separate policy arenas. Recently, however, there are efforts to link them to make use of co-benefits while avoiding trade-offs. Perspectives from the recent developments in the Mexican policy arena will be discussed focusing on arguments why the political linkage is important and where priorities are set. Potential integration of these policies for the Latin American and Caribbean region will be also discussed.
