Coordinating International Science and Policy Efforts

The International Council for Science (ICSU) is a non-governmental organization with a global membership of national scientific bodies (120 Members, representing 140 countries) and International Scientific Unions (31 Members). ICSU is the only co-sponsor of all four main international global environmental change programmes as well as the new Future Earth initiative. With Future Earth as the background, this talk will discuss benefits and challenges of coordinating international research efforts.
