The Diffusion of Democratic Norms

Democracy over the last generation has diffused over much of the globe.  This talk will focus on the mechanisms of this diffusion, with a focus on the role that the international environment plays in this diffusion process, including presentation of field experimental findings that highlight the impact of international institutions on the electoral process.
