Challenges and Opportunities for Scientists in After School Settings

As Co-Director of the UC San Francisco's Science and Health Education Partnership and a biochemist by training, Rebecca will compare and contrast the experiences of working with schools and classroom teachers along with after school organizations. Rebecca will also discuss the types of activities which studies show are most effective in promoting science learning with youth and the resources needed for successful engagements. Rebecca will also discuss the orientation and training sessions her organization employs with graduate students and researchers who want to do public outreach.
