In Practice: Reconciling Existing Uses with Emerging Uses

Friday, February 15, 2013
Room 313 (Hynes Convention Center)
Sally McGee , The Nature Conservancy, New Haven, CT
Ms. McGee will explore the contributions and shortfalls of various types of analyses the New England Fishery Management Council has used to determine the potential impacts of the wind energy industry on commercial fisheries. As a member of the council, she brings a valuable and unique perspective on how commercial fishers, a vocal group of individuals with a long history of use of New England waters, is reacting to the entry of the wind energy industry.
