Modeling What Matters: Quantifying Trade-Offs for Energy, Transportation, and Fishing

Friday, February 15, 2013
Room 313 (Hynes Convention Center)
Robert Griffin , Natural Capital Project, Stanford, CA
Dr. Griffin will show how a suite of ecosystem service models, including a commercial fishing effort distribution model, have helped quantify tradeoffs between three critical sectors in Massachusetts. His talk will focus on the biophysical and social science and how that information is being used by the New England Fishery Management Council, the Northeast Regional Ocean Council and others in the wind energy permitting process.
