Spatial data and analyses are relied on to determine investments in agricultural development and value-chain participation. Data include agricultural production, environmental variables, production systems, and household characteristics. Remote sensing technologies can replace costly field work. Across agencies and governments, shared, global data management platforms are enhancing the power and efficiency of monitoring, evaluation, modeling, and prediction to improve food security.
