Agriculture in the Neotropics is constantly expanding. Despite the favorable rates of agricultural production, the paradox between the increase in production vs. decreased sustainability is evident. Technology development has been driven by the need to lessen the impact of agriculture on the environment. This presentation will discuss fundamental scientific discoveries in plant genetics that combined with agricultural practices, offer sustainability for both small and large crops.
