Co-Design: Why Broader Engagement Is Crucial for Global Change and Development Science

As we reform science-based initiatives and increase international collaboration there are many synergies among the various stakeholder groups affected by and/or using global environmental change adaptation and mitigation measures. A diversity of expertise and cultural backgrounds can provide valuable insights and structure to research priorities and decision-making. Failing to incorporate this variety of perspectives could be detrimental to decision-making that supports sustainable development.
