Developing methodology to measure the socioeconomic impact of R&D investments is essential in the planning of evidence-based science and technology (S&T) policies. NISTEP has been analyzing the progress of S&T, and R&D activities in Japan through various metrics and is working on studies assessing its societal impact. This presentation will describe our new research approaches, and introduce our major results and the establishment of data infrastructure for future analysis.
