Chimpanzees and bonobos are humans' closest living relatives, sharing over 98% of their DNA with our species. In line with these genomic comparisons, recent findings from comparative cognition research have revealed that aspects of chimpanzee and bonobo psychology also evoke striking parallels with humans. This talk outlines similarities between humans, chimpanzees, and bonobos in elements of cooperative behavior, capacities for innovation, and patterns of economic decision-making.
