Through GIS, maps now have become more accessible, dynamic and participatory through the crowd-sourcing of individual user input, merging the personal and anecdotal with public information layers. These patterns can be both informative and visually intriguing, providing a dynamic snapshot of the complex nature of visual, spatial and social connectivity. Contemporary artists are using GIS as a creative tool to explore new ways to render and reimagine the worlds we live in.
