Communicating in a Minute: Reaching Decision-Makers

Sunday, February 19, 2012: 2:45 PM-3:45 PM
Room 111-112 (VCC West Building)
Because decision-makers see themselves as time-poor, being able to communicate effectively in a short period of time is essential. You’ll hear from decision-makers about what information they need from researchers when time is limited: How should researchers approach decision makers? What is the worst thing a researcher can do when they come to see a decision maker? What could do they better? What is the first thing decision-makers want to hear from a researcher? This is a practical, hands-on session so you'll also get the opportunity to practice communicating your research to a panel of decision makers and receive feedback on what inspires them to keep listening.
