Title:
Nanocrystalline Cellulose Research at the National Institute for Nanotechnology (Canada)
Abstract:
The National Institute for Nanotechnology and the Alberta nanoAccelerator hosted at the University of Alberta has funded several integrated initiatives that use the nanocrystaline cellulose produced at the pilot plant operated by Alberta Innovates Technology Futures. These projects include characterization, surface modification and derivatization, and development of novel applications of this very interesting material. This presentation will highlight some of this work with particular emphasis on the work of the presenter. The work presented will be from the labs of Drs. Yaman Boluk, Greg Goss, Hicham Fenniri, Mark McDermott, Nils Petersen, and Larry Unsworth.
