A passion for research, knowledge, and its pursuit is so widespread in anthropology that it cuts across most topical, methodological, and other scholarly divides in the profession. Evidence of this is easy to identify but periodically undermined by events or moments that highlight, indeed exaggerate, intradisciplinary differences.
