Fighting Tuberculosis: The Role of a TB Vaccine Product Development Partnership

The workshop introduces the Aeras Global TB Vaccine Foundation, a non-profit product development partnership (PDP) that works in collaboration with research and development partners from around the world to develop safer, more effective TB vaccines, especially for use in the developing world where the TB epidemic is an urgent global health emergency. Presenters will describe the role of a PDP in working with academic, pharmaceutical, and government-funded research institutes to leverage intellectual property and share resources toward the mutual goal of advancing a portfolio of new TB vaccines. Presenters will also describe how attendees can participate in advocacy and resource mobilization to support TB research.
