The most pressing challenges to global development and wellbeing need to be addressed collectively. However to realise the potential of science, technology and innovation in contributing to their solution, while guaranteeing that the interests of all countries are reflected, new approaches and governance mechanisms for international cooperation appear to be called for. The OECD is working to develop principles and good practices for governance of multi-lateral S&T cooperation.
