The importance of developing cultural competency curriculum will be examined. In addition the speaker will give an overview of current national policy initiatives that are establishing school and university partnerships as a means to increase U.S. underrepresented minority student interest, including Latinos, in educational and workforce participation in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology.
