New Era for Science-Driven Innovation Policy in Japan

Japan had driven its scientific and technological advancements forward systematically in conformity with Science and Technology Basic Plan and the Science and Technology Basic Law. How has the momentous power shift witnessed in September 2009 shifted the direction for forth science and technology policy? Japan  presented an ambitious goal to address climate change and curbing CO2 emissions to the world. This presentation discusses the status quo and the new era of Japanese science and technology policy, and challenges & opportunities.
