A vaccine to prevent norovirus infections, to complement other control strategies, is based on Virus-Like Particles that mimic the virus but do not cause disease.  Because the virus mutates frequently, any norovirus vaccine will need to be adaptable in the same way current flu vaccines change in response to the pathogen evolution.  With new formulation technologies, and adaptable biomanufacturing, there is reasonable hope for developing a licensed vaccine in the not too distant future!
