SCIENTISTS OF NEW YORK: SHATTERING STEREOTYPES & HIGHLIGHTING DIVERSITY

Taking inspiration from Humans of New York, Scientists of New York (ScioNY) showcases how scientists come from a huge variety of backgrounds. Through ScioNY, we use photos and stories to challenge stereotypical perceptions of what a scientist looks like and humanize the scientific process. We hope that everyone will find a scientist (or many) who they can connect with in some way, making science and scientists more relatable.
