Informing the Development of Responsible Governance With Responsible Science

The presentation will explore how governance of gene drives can be developed in ways that support the best science and also attend to ethical, legal, and social implications of the research. The presentation will reflect on how lessons learned in research on responsible science, particularly the importance of long-term commitment to community engagement and relationship building, can inform the development of responsible research and regulatory policies for gene drives.
