Sir Peter Gluckman, chief science advisor to the PM of New Zealand and chair of the International Network for Government Science Advice, will give an opening talk setting the context for this discussion, and outlining progress to date in developing a set of principles for scientific advice. He will also outline key questions and areas for debate, where input from AAAS members and participants would be particularly valuable.
