Prof. Heiger-Bernays will focus on the use of fisheries resources as critical sources of nutrition by at-risk communities in the US, including tribal populations and environmental justice communities. The associated risks of this resource use in terms of chemical and microbial exposure will be discussed. The impacts of development and global climate change on the sustainability of community fisheries will also be considered.
