Adaptive Management Under Potential Climate Induced Productivity Shifts

Sunday, February 19, 2017: 10:00 AM-11:30 AM
Room 310 (Hynes Convention Center)
Jake Kritzer, Environmental Defense Fund, Boston, MA
Climate change is driving measurable changes in the Northwest Atlantic that are unfolding faster than almost anywhere else in the world. This has spurred considerable debate about changes needed in the scientific basis for management, with little accompanying debate about needed changes in management itself. Dr. Kritzer will show how alternative harvest control rules can introduce inherent resilience to environmental change, even if science does not account for those changes explicitly.
