The rapidly increasing aging population is transforming many aspects of life in Thailand including health and welfare, education, security and urbanization. In addition, the country is becoming an international hub for business, medical tourism, long stay and retirement destination. Health science, ICT and biomedical engineering have emerged as nation’s strategic research areas, connecting with innovative business model and new services. The key to sustainability rests on how the country could leverage international cooperation while building up the capacity for future.
