Communicating Science
Thursday, February 11, 2016: 9:00 AM-10:30 AM
Marshall Ballroom North (Marriott Wardman Park)
Scientists who wish to engage with policymakers may wonder about how to have an appropriate and effective role in policy discussions. Emerging research on the relationship between scientists’ advocacy and public trust in science will be shared. Panelists will discuss best practices for scientists balancing civic engagement with professional obligations, with case studies on policy issues involving health research, education, and social sciences.

Note: This panel is co-listed with the Engaging Scientists and Engineers in Policy (ESEP) workshop, which runs through the day and provides an opportunity for more interactive discussion on this topic.
