Science communication is an integral component of the scientific process. As institutions struggle to meet the surge in demand for skill development in this area, professional societies are taking a leading role in providing communication workshops for their members. But how do scientists know what skill or approach is most appropriate for their needs and interests? In this interactive session, attendees will get a brief overview of the wide variety of approaches available from different professional societies before trying out some of the skill-building elements with session presenters. Presenters will also discuss the rationale behind their approaches and share evaluation results.
