This presentation will provide a case-study of the recently launched initiative, African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA), whose objective is to further build indigenous research excellence. ARUA, owned and driven by African universities, aims to improve training and support for PhD students, capacity building to enhance research management, and collaborative and coordinated programs of research and training.
