Unlike earlier efforts at crowd-sourced science, Eterna has crossed over from simulation to in-vitro experimentation, and has already produced fascinating results over its 5 years lifespan, with players participating, solving, collaborating, implementing software tools and documenting their own research. Current collaborative efforts in the project encompass themes like gamification, educational content and improved data analysis tools to support ambitious future goals in bio-engineering.
