Emergency Training and Responses for Cultural Heritage Protection and Preservation

This paper provides examples of recent work in emergency training and responses for cultural heritage in crisis focusing on Mali, Syria, and Iraq. This paper will discuss the international network of academics and scholars that support emergency local efforts and the structures that provides educational trainings and facilitates local projects. The three presenters will offer firsthand accounts of trainings, documentation work, and safeguarding collections salvaged from damaged cultural sites.
